The assessment below establishes your school’s current AI governance position across six critical dimensions. It creates the evidence base for the results, recommendations and support included in your chosen AI Compass pathway.
 
Please answer according to what is in place and can be evidenced today, not what is planned, intended or assumed.

Your responses provide the evidence base for your Expert review. They will help us challenge assumptions, interpret the most significant gaps and focus the expert discussion on the decisions and interventions that matter most.

Before You Begin

Please allow approximately 20 minutes to complete the assessment.
 
For the most reliable result:
 
  • The assessment should be completed by someone with a sufficiently broad view of safeguarding, technology, data protection, staff practice and leadership governance.
 
  • Consult colleagues before starting if information is held by different teams.
 
  • Answer according to arrangements that are currently operating and can be evidenced.
 
  • If you genuinely do not know whether something is in place, select “Not in place / not sure”. Uncertainty is itself useful governance information.
 
  • Use the same school email address used for the purchase so that we can match your response to your order.
 
Please do not enter pupil names, staff names, passwords, sensitive personal information or details of individual safeguarding incidents.

Complete Your AI Governance Assessment

The assessment contains 24 scored questions across:
 
  1. Tool Awareness and Approval
  2. Technical Safeguards
  3. Policy and Documentation
  4. Staff Capability
  5. Pupil Safety
  6. Leadership and Governance
 
Your answers should reflect your school’s current position. There is no advantage in presenting a 'future position' at this stage.
What happens next?

Once you submit your assessment:
  1. Your response will be checked and scored.
  2. Your school’s position will be assessed across all six dimensions.
  3. Your results and recommendations will be prepared in accordance with your purchased pathway.
  4. We will contact you using the details provided with the appropriate next steps.
